About this Medicine

Lorchek-MR Gel is a medicine used to treat pain due to muscle spasm. It works by improving the movement of muscles and relieving pain caused by spasms. It also provides relief from pain and swelling. Lorchek-MR Gel is for external use only. It may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. You should use it as advised by your doctor. You should not use it on the skin which is broken, bruised, or blistered. If it gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth, vagina, immediately rinse with plenty of water.It may cause irritation, itching, and burning sensation immediately following application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration.Although medicines used on the skin are not normally affected by other medicines, you should let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicine to be safe. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How it Works

Lorchek-MR Gel is a combination of three medicines: Lornoxicam, Methyl Salicylate and Thiocolchicoside which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Lornoxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause fever, pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Methyl Salicylate is a topical analgesic (pain reliever). It works by first cooling the skin then warming it up. This cooling and warming up action distracts from the feeling of pain. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.
