About this Medicine
Metrolite DG Gel is used to treat skin infections. It has antimicrobial action on the infections, so inhibits the growth of bacteria. It also reduces the redness, swelling, and itchiness and helps in rapid healing of wounds. Metrolite DG Gel is a combination of two medicines. It is strictly advised for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected areas of the skin. You must wash immediately if there is accidental exposure of it on the eyes or mouth.This medicine is generally safe, but it may sometimes cause irritation, burning sensation, and discomfort at the site of application. These effects are mild and go away in sometime but if they stay for a long duration, you should consult the doctor immediately.
How it Works
Metrolite DG Gel is a combination of two medicines: Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Metronidazole. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar and other mouth infections. Metronidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.
