Mixbiotic-AC Ear Drop is a medicine used in the treatment of ear infections. It works by killing the microorganisms in the ear by destroying their cell membranes. This relieves discomfort, itching, irritation, and in the ear. Mixbiotic-AC Ear Drop is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. You can help the medicine work better by keeping the affected areas clean, making sure they are dry, and washing your hands before and after treating the infection.It may cause redness, irritation, itching, and burning sensation immediately following application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects.It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way this medicine works, however, let your doctor know if you are using any other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask the advice of your doctor before using the medicine.
How it Works
Mixbiotic-AC Ear Drop is a combination of five medicines: Lidocaine, Acetic acid, Beclometasone, Clotrimazole and Ofloxacin which treat ear infections. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain thereby decreasing the sensation of pain. Acetic acid is an antiseptic. Beclometasone is a steroid medicine which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the ear red, swollen and itchy. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves.
