Ryverna Solution for Infusion works by binding to a protein (P-selectin) that causes the blood cells to stick together. Blocking this protein prevents blood cells from sticking with each other and to the walls of blood vessels. This improves blood supply throughout the body. This also lowers the risk of pain crisis and other severe complications of sickle cell disease, such as stroke and organ damage.
