Sprot Plus 100 mg/125 mg/50 mg Suspension effectively treats parasitic infections in children. It works by killing the infection-causing microorganisms. Additionally, it also helps treat symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain, bloating, discomfort, and cramps that may be associated with these infections. Give Sprot Plus 100 mg/125 mg/50 mg Suspension to your child orally, with food, preferably at a fixed time. Giving it with food helps prevent the risk of developing a stomach upset. The usually prescribed frequency is three times a day, once each in the morning, afternoon, and at bedtime, keeping a gap of a minimum of 6 hours between two doses. Always give the dose as prescribed by the doctor since that depends on the severity and type of infection, body weight, and age of your child. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but never double up the dose if it is time for the next dose. Some children may develop minor and temporary side effects after taking this medicine. These include nausea, vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea, metallic taste, dizziness, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, anorexia, abdominal cramps, red-brown urine, pruritus, and mild skin rash. These side effects usually go away once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case they persist for long or start bothering your child, you must consult your child’s doctor without any delay.Your child’s doctor must be aware if your child has ever had any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.
Sprot Plus 100 mg/125 mg/50 mg Suspension is a combination of three medicines: Metronidazole, diloxanide, and simethicone. Metronidazole is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Diloxanide is combined with metronidazole in case of severe intestinal infections. Diloxanide is a luminal amoebicide that acts inside the intestines to kill the infection-causing microorganisms (amoeba). Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine that disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.
